am spending the first working day in a long time, at home.
at home with my laptop in front of me, at my dining table. my mum's seated 2 seats away, at her usual seat, reading her chinese bible. and i'm...chatting with my friends, blogging. i can already feel myself slowly turning into a sack of fats. and by the time i finish this post, the only not-yet-disintegrated parts of me would be my fingers...and probably my eyeballs, and a fraction of my brain.
oh, what a horrible visual description.
i just got a job offer to design '5 or 8' huge posters for ayg. but, by tomorrow. and i'm wondering if i should take it up, though all those whom i've polled have voted against it. ok fine. i'll let it go. though i feel bad not being able to help friz out. let's hope he is able to find someone else. God bless him.
it's surreal how my days in SYOG have just come and gone. six months already, can you believe it??? over six months (or maybe less, about 5 and a half, i think) i have gained 4 kg and lost 2 in the last few weeks. haha. i guess it's the late lunches and sometimes late dinners that has spoilt the digestive system. now i can only eat abit, and then i'm full. and soon after, i'll get hungry again. so one of the aims of post-internship is to make sure i get my huge appetite back.
i will miss my colleagues. they are a riot, and i wonder what i'd have done without them. the people around you can be so important. you can be cleaning sh*t all day long, but with great company, i doubt it'll be that much of a chore. you might even make believe that you smell like flowers after a long, hard day at work.
i think one of the reasons i liked working at SYOG is the fact that i was able to be myself. in other words, i was comfortable being who i am around the people i work with. i think that is quite rare, especially in workplaces. i feel blessed, and all the doubts i had when i was posted to syog for my internship, i toss it all away. looking back, i can see the plans God had for me when He put me here instead of some advertising agency. all's good, and i wouldn't trade the experience for another.
now, it's about paying back all the family time that got compromised from those long working hours and stolen weekends. and about looking ahead, back to school. just had the 'STARS' WARS, the heart-pounding subject registration process which is probably an effective generator of angry curses. got the mods that i wanted, thank God, though not everyone was as successful. (time out: my mum just said that we should go buy ice cream tomorrow and stock them up in our fridge. woohoo!!!) need to adjust my brain back to the school system of droning lectures, painful tutorials and jialat walks around Pulau NTU. oh, and exams. but that's in august so let's think more happy thoughts now, shall we.
am thinking - actually, very likely - of going back to volunteer at SAAC. now that's something to look forward to! :) but probably next week, cos this week we celebrate the Mee (Mummy ExclusivE) Festival. i'm sorry, i'm bad at acronyms. haha.
okay, gotta go. no more Cleansing Cream ah, YO people. and you, stop playing bejeweled. you also, don't laugh, i know you're playing mousehunt.
jin ja shi ro yo.
